Removable Dentures

A removable dental prosthesis is a device designed to replace missing teeth, and as its name suggests, it can be removed and reinserted by the patient without the need for professional assistance. It is used when treatment with dental implants or fixed prostheses is not possible or advisable.

There are two main types of removable dental prostheses:

Removable dentures are a less invasive and more affordable option compared to fixed dentures or dental implants, but they require proper maintenance and care to ensure their durability and proper function. In addition, it is important that they fit correctly to prevent discomfort or problems with the gums and adjacent teeth.

Removable partial denture

It is used when some natural teeth are still present in the mouth. It consists of a resin or metal base that supports the artificial teeth and is attached to the natural teeth using clasps or retainers. This prosthesis replaces some of the missing teeth, while the remaining natural teeth help hold the prosthesis in place.

Removable Full Denture (or complete denture)

It is used when there are no natural teeth left in the mouth. This prosthesis covers the entire dental arch and fits over the gums. It can be made of materials such as acrylic resin or composite materials, and it restores both the function and appearance of the missing teeth.
